Jay Morgan joined the IPARKS Board of Directors in 2012. Jay is the Executive Director of South Barrington Park District. His history with the park district began with summer employment as a teen, learning all aspects of park operations including lawn care, front desk clerk, lifeguard, tennis pro and in 1992, he became the South Barrington Club Manager. Later, he was the Facility Manager and was promoted to his current role as Executive Director of the South Barrington Park District in 2007. Under his guidance, the park district has grown from two parks totaling 15 acres to four parks with over 51 acres. He served as chairman of IPARKS and of the Northwest Special Recreation Association Board of Directors. Jay has been a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) since 1978 and earned the classification of Elite Professional. He earned a Bachelors’ Degree in Business Management and Administration from Bradley University, where he played four years of collegiate tennis. Jay recently became a national tennis champion with his son, Adam. He has also earned his Merchant Mariner Credential and is a licensed sea captain.
